5th SA AIDS Conference - ICC DURBAN • 7–10 June 2011 Theme: Leadership, Delivery & Accountability The 5th South African AIDS Conference was hosted from the 7th to 11th June at the Inkosi Albert Conference Centre (ICC) in Durban. The theme of this year’s conference was Leadership, Delivery and Accountability which resonates with the work we at MatCH do as a partner in the eThekwini District working across provincial and local government clinics, community health centres and hospitals. The conference presentations highlighted current research and advocacy efforts related to HIV and AIDS across six different tracks: Basic Sciences; Clinical Sciences; Epidemiology and Prevention; Social and Economic Sciences; Community Exchange Encounters; and Health Systems, Programmes, Human Rights and Ethics. It has been ten years since the first such Conference was held. Since then research has increased exponentially and much of the research emanates from having the largest public sector treatment for HIV in the world. <Read More>>> |
